Comida y tierra (Food and Land) #4

July 24, 2017, 6:00pm - July 24, 2017, 6:30pm

¿Hablas español? Join us for our fourth "Comida y tierra" conversation (in Spanish)! As a gesture of our appreciation, we are providing free meals to all native Spanish speakers who attend this event, as they are volunteering their time to help facilitate the conversation. Support us in this effort by contributing here! Agenda 6PM - 7:30pm: Note: We are aiming to create an immersive environment where only Spanish is spoken once you walk in the door! 1. Orientation, seating (based on level) and placing meal orders 2. Standing facilitated conversation in different groups (according to level) 3. Back to seats for eating and further discussion 4. Kingston Land Trust and Kingston YMCA Farm Project announcements Everyone is welcome- this event is open to anyone! Our organizations are non-governmental and work to support the community. Our goal is to create safe and friendly environments to get to know each other and eat together. Comida y tierra is a facilitated conversation series in Spanish hosted by the Kingston Land Trust in collaboration with the Kingston YMCA Farm Project, at Latin restaurants along Broadway. This immersive experience brings together native Spanish speakers and those who are learning and want to practice Spanish over a meal (not included) to build community and discuss issues of land and food that affect our city. For more information and to RSVP, contact Kingston Land Trust Executive Director Julia Farr at or call 845-877-5263.
