On Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, 2017, there will be a 2-day Earth Day celebration in the City of Poughkeepsie, celebrating the city’s diversity and biodiversity. This community event is being organized by volunteers and supported by the City of Poughkeepsie. These two days of events have been scheduled with intent to benefit the City as a whole—its vitality, its beauty, its residents, service organizations, businesses and visitors.
The Friday, April 21 celebration—outdoors on Poughkeepsie City Hall Plaza—will feature an acoustic performance by Grammy-nominated, Blues Hall of Fame musician Joe Louis Walker with Murali Coryell, as well as performances by several other wonderful local artists.
On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017, there’ll be an 8-Ward citywide cleanup taking place from 10am-12noon. Let us know if your organization would like to put together a clean-up team. The citywide cleanup will be followed by a partner event, the March for Science Hudson Valley, beginning on Main Street at 1:30pm and marching to Waryas Park.
