Ulster County Single-Family Repair Program (SFP)
Before
After
RUPCO has been administering repair grants to eligible homeowners for over 25 years, assisting over 900 Ulster County households using public and private funding to help them maintain safe and sanitary affordable housing stock in our community.
Each applicant’s home is evaluated to determine the types of repairs needed, including health and safety hazards, improvement or replacement of outdated systems, structural issues, accessibility modifications, and energy conservation measures. Applicants must occupy the residence and meet other requirements. Please note that most funding sources do not allow repair assistance for manufactured housing. All grants provided are liens on the home and have a 5–10-year residency requirement. Third-party local contractors provide all work that the homeowner selects.
Typical repairs:

RUPCO currently has a waitlist for this program. We encourage Ulster County Homeowners to apply. Applicants are determined on a first come, first-serve basis from the waitlist. Some applicants may be selected based on the lowest income and need or other specifications set by funders when funding is available. There are specific document requirements to verify ownership, household size and income, homeowners’ insurance, and non-default of mortgages or property taxes.
This program is not an immediate or emergency program. Applicants may apply to be on the waitlist for future funding as it comes available.
