HOMEOWNERSHIP PRESERVATION COUNSELOR – RDAC: position filled as of 7/24/15
Responsibilities: Provide individual counseling for homeowners facing foreclosure or in default with their mortgage, coordinate and facilitate public education and outreach, negotiate with lenders for loan modifications and payment plans, prepare and maintain counseling files, and be responsible to produce reports on those counseled. The Homeownership Preservation Counselor must have or be willing to attain certifications in homebuyer counseling, and foreclosure prevention, and assist the homeownership center manager as needed in educational classes.
Requirements: Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in providing housing counseling services with not-for-profit housing agency or related work. Knowledge in purchasing, banking, legal, personal money management or real estate preferred. Must have strong planning and organizational skills, possess effective communication skills, computer literacy (specifically with data bases), and strong writing skills.
Must be willing to travel, attend off site trainings and have a valid driver’s license.
Salary: Low to Mid 30’s Commensurate with experience
