RUPCO has been a proud charter member of NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit, nonpartisan leader in affordable housing and community development, since 1999.
New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is the State’s affordable housing agency, with a mission to build, preserve, and protect affordable housing and increase homeownership throughout New York State.
The Rural Housing Coalition of New York is a statewide organization dedicated to revitalizing rural New York by strengthening housing and community development providers.
The coalition supports rural housing and community development providers through:
- Organizational Capacity Development
- Training and Technical Assistance
- Raising Public Awareness and Advocacy
In 1995, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a community development support organization working in metropolitan areas across the country, launched Rural LISC, a national program created to expand LISC’s reach beyond urban areas to include rural communities. Rural LISC partners with more than 140 rural community-based organizations, including five financial intermediaries, helping them identify challenges and opportunities, and delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs. Together we are working to transform communities in more than 2,400 counties across 49 states and Puerto Rico.
