Nestled in a tranquil, forested setting adjacent to Franny Reese State Park with direct trail access, Silver Gardens is a proposed new construction, 57-one bedroom rental development for low-income seniors age 62 and older on Argent Drive in the hamlet of Highland (Town of Lloyd).
The project will offer 28 apartments to seniors with incomes at or below 30% Area Median Income (AMI), with 18 units receiving rental assistance through Project-Based Vouchers and an Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative grant that, in addition to rental subsidy, will provide access to case management and other supportive services. The remaining 29 units will be accessible to seniors at 50 – 60% of Area Median Income.
The project is a joint venture between RUPCO and Richard Gerentine, principal. RUPCO and Mr. Gerentine have collaborated on four other successful senior developments in Ulster County—Jenny’s Garden I & II in Marlboro, Milton Harvest in Milton, and Golden View Apartments in Highland immediately adjacent to the project site.
