We are looking for an HR manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. To us, an HR manager is the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This means that your HR manager duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management. Responsibilities and Principal Duties:
Oversee hiring process

  • Draft, place & monitor internal posting and external advertisements
  • Gather/sort, review & forward resumes
  • Set up initial interviews as requested
  • Perform background/reference checks
  • Prepare & disseminate hire & rejection letters

Manage Staff Orientations

  • Present & explain personnel policy
  • Complete benefit enrollments
  • Complete orientation checklist
  • Assist with facilitating annual agency employee orientation meetings

Oversee Employee Recognition/Staff Development

  • Coordinate staff trainings
  • Coordinate monthly staff meeting – supplying CEO with announcements
  • Compile staff surveys as needed
  • Coordinate staff awards and recognition

Monitor Compliance with Policies & Regulatory Bodies

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel matters
  • Maintain adherence to Personnel Policy
  • Update Personnel Policy annually with legal consultation as needed
  • Monitor compliance with trainings and grant related requirements
  • Monitor poster compliance at all sites
  • Monitor the completion of timely evaluations (90-day, annual, probation)
  • Oversee workers compensation incident reporting/monitoring
  • Update/maintain job descriptions, salary grid/wage competitiveness
  • Oversee disciplinary & grievance; make suggestions related to progressive discipline, terminations and necessary investigations.
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Assist with agency employee safety program
  • Oversee Employment Assistance Program
  • Maintain/monitor the updating of documents in personnel files (& file documents)

Participate in Annual Employee Benefit Negotiations

  • Health/Dental Insurance, Life, 403b, AFLAC, WC, DBL, PFL, & others
  • Complete Bi-Weekly Payroll
  • Review timesheets data for accuracy
  • Process changes or updates to payroll to be approved by CFO
  • Accomplish necessary processes for bi-weekly payroll focusing on details and accuracy
  • Prepare payroll reports to be approved by CFO
  • Maintaining payroll records and files
  • Help in gathering data for reporting to required outside agency

HR Correspondences

  • Hire letters
  • Notice of potential eligibility of FMLA, DBL, PFL
  • Tracking of above benefits
  • Complaint investigations and follow up
  • Tracking of training
  • Separation/Termination notifications
  • Unemployment questionnaires to third party administrator

Other

  • Mediation, counseling and support to employees
  • Government and Court Ordered information and garnishments
  • Employee diversity workshops – REDI committee
  • Employee newsletter
  • Assist with agency organizational chart
  • Ongoing analysis of “Salary Survey” results and recommendations
  • HR monthly stats relating to turnover %, ethnicity reports, gender reports, FTE, budget vs. actual payroll expenses
  • Other administrative or related duties as assigned

Skills

  • Proven working experience as HR manager or other HR executive
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Demonstrable experience with humanr resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Experience in not-for-profit Human Resources Management a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or HR Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) with 5+ years of experience in the field

Experience: Human Resources Management: 5 years (Required)

Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred)
